The most important thing about a tree is it's trunk. Without the trunk, the tree would be weak, unable to transport vital nutrients up to the upper branches and leaves. Look closely at the trunk. Awareness supports all the other contemplative practices and so much more. Awareness is our foundation.
So how does a person develop awareness?
Practice Mindfulness.
Mindfulness is defined as paying attention, to the present moment, without judgment. Mindfulness will support every other area of your life because it comes back to the core, awareness. Awareness empowers us to make conscious choices. It expands our view and gives us a new way to relate to whatever appears in our lives.
It has probably been the single most powerful practice in my life. So I want to give it special attention and focus on the practice of mindfulness over the next several blog posts.
Thanks for reading...love and blessings to you.
